Apartments in Boston area?

Whats the general price range of a 1 bedroom apartment in innercity Boston? (rent, not condo)

If you are still finding that the apartments in Boston are pretty expensive you should look for apartments in Charlestown - just a bridge away from Boston. I just lived there with my best friend for two years and the rent for a 2 bedroom was $1200. Not a bad steal considering we lived on the first floor - plenty of storage in the basement - and the best of all - a roof deck with a beautiful view of Boston's skyline. The North End and and Faneuil Hall were about a 15 - 20 minute walk from our apartment - or a 6 dollar cab ride. Charlestown is a really great place to live especially if you love the nightlife - you're a skip, hop and a jump away from it all! If you're serious about giving a look there, you should contactg Gibson Real Estate in Charlestown - tell them "Juice" sent you. They will help you find a perfect apt. for you - Charlestown or Boston or anywhere!

Actually just got a 1bedroom for 1300 in Boston, but it was a steal. Average would be 1500.

I found a TINY studio on Mass Ave in the Back Bay area for $900. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. My current bedroom is bigger than this entire place. It was nice, clean and in a fairly safe neighborhood, but I couldn't fit my bed in the front room, let alone my couch and other furniture.

am not sure

Isn't Craigslist a better source for this info?

It all depends. Some place are more expensive than others. I live in a big beautiful 2 bedroom in Boston and I pay $1075 a month (and believe me, it's in a beautiful part of Boston and T accessible; it looks more like a condominum than an apartment)

My suggestion to you, don't use rental agencies. The best deals are always in the Sunday Boston Herald and Globe. They are less pricier and you don't have to pay a ridiculous amount of rental fee.

Depends what part of the city. Beacon Hill would run you about $1800. Back Bay, about $1500 or $1600 (for a nice one). Fenway about $1200-1300.

Southie is cheaper, closer to $900 or $1000. Allston and Brighton, west of the city, would not be impossible to find for $800, but then you have to deal with crime and college parties.

One bedrooms are expensive. Studios and Lofts are way cheaper. Two bedrooms are more common and splitting the price with a roommate saves a ton. Good luck!

Depends on what part of the city you want to be. . . I'd say anywhere from $1,100 to $1,800, obviously with area and niceness of the place varying a lot!
