Depending on which part of Boston and how nice you want it to be, you can probably get something starting at $1500. Nicer places are upwards of $2000-$2500 a month.
If this is too expensive, you can try living in a suburb and taking a commuter train into Boston everyday. Look into places like Braintree, Bridgewater, Lakeville (to name a few). I have list the URL to the commuter train map below.
I just moved from Boston to Florida!
It would really depend on where you wanted to live in Boston.
I paid $2200 for a 2 bedroom, one bathroom apartment in the North End. It was six hundred square feet, and a fifth floor walk up (ie, it sucked). Also, that didn't include utilities...so I had to tack on another $250 for water, heat, electricity, etc.
I also lived in Allston, where I paid $1500 for a 2 bedroom.
You could live somewhere outside of Boston, like Quincy, Somerville, Malden, Chelsea, etc.... but those areas are not as nice and you would need to commute in. It's up to you.
I still can't get over how much cheaper it is to live in Florida.
i live just north of it in portland maine and i heard people say that its on par with san diego (which is pricey as all hell!!!)....check out craigslist for yourself==studios start at roughly 1200-1300
